The beginners course is based on the book ‘ Drawing on the right side of the brain’ by Betty Edwards. In the distant past I took this course myself and as a result I went to the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in the Hague. It worked.
The course is based on the idea that not drawing in itself is difficult, most of us can hold a pencil and put a few lines on paper, but that the problem is not looking at things exactly.. We draw what we think we see and not what we actually see. Through exercises the student learns to shift the thinking into the background and focus on looking at things the right way. And by seeing things the right way one will improve one’s drawing.
Draw your hand without looking at your paper.
